The USDA says Ohio farmers welcomed timely rains and seasonable temperatures last week.

Sixty-two percent of the state’s corn crop is in good to excellent condition. Ninety-six percent of corn is in the dough stage, 64 percent dented, and 16 percent is mature.

Sixty-one percent of soybeans are in good to excellent condition. Ninety-eight percent of the crop is setting pods and 14 percent is dropping leaves.
