Rains have been hit or miss for many Midwestern farmers this growing season.
West central Iowa farmer Mark Schleisman says June was hot and dry.
“A little bit worried that was going to sap us, you know the crop was rolling up during the day. And then since then we’ve just had timely rains. I mean I wish I had a little more rain, but we’re a lot better off than a little north of us and a ways south of us.”
The Lake City area farmer grows corn, soybeans, popcorn, and raises cow/calf pairs.
