It’s a very quiet Monday for direct cash cattle trade activity.  Bids and asking prices have yet to surface.  Buyers and sellers are likely busy taking inventory.  The bulk of the week’s business will take place Midweek or later.  Recapping last week’s business, Southern lives deals were marked at $140 to mostly $141, generally steady with the previous week’s weighted averages.  Northern dressed trade had a range of $225 to $231, mostly $226, about $2.50 below the prior week’s weighted average basis in Nebraska.
