The Supreme Court case challenging California’s Proposition 12 starts in less than a month.
National Pork Producers Council president Terry Wolters, a producer from Minnesota, says October 11th will be an impactful date not only to the U.S. pork industry, but also to states across the country.
“As it sets the precedent for states to regulate or not regulate what goes on outside their borders.”
During a call with reporters Thursday, he says NPPC challenged Prop 12 because it’s an unconstitutional overreach that will impact future generations of pig farmers and pork production, along with consumers.
