Cattle country is quiet to end the week after the light to moderate direct cash cattle trade that took place in most areas on Thursday. Asking prices for what’s left on showlists are around $143 to $144 live in the South and $230-plus dressed in the North. Some clean-up trade could still take place before the end of the day. For the week, Southern live deals were at mostly $142, $1 higher than the previous week’s weighted averages.
