As Hurricane Fiona moves away from Puerto Rico, the commonwealth will continue to deal with lingering impacts such as power outages and significant flooding. Meanwhile on the U.S. mainland, some areas will experience dry weather for the remainder of the week. In fact, hot, dry conditions will dominate the South, stretching from the southern Plains to the southern Atlantic coastal plain, excluding Florida’s peninsula. Mostly dry weather will also prevail during the next 5 days in southern California and much of the Great Basin.
