Cloudiness and showers associated with the post-tropical remnants of Hurricane Ian will be slow to depart the middle Atlantic Coast, persisting through the middle of the week. In contrast, large sections of the country will remain dry during the next 5 days, with scattered showers mostly limited to an area stretching from the Four Corners States into the north-central U.S. During the second half of the week, very cool air will arrive across the northern Plains and upper Midwest before surging southeastward.
