In the middle Atlantic States, clouds and showers in the wake of Hurricane Ian’s dissipation should persist through mid-week. Producers in Virginia and the Carolinas are monitoring open-boll cotton and other unharvested summer crops, following recent rain and gusty winds. Meanwhile, much of the remainder of the U.S. is experiencing dry weather, with scattered showers limited to an area stretching from the southern Rockies into the upper Midwest. In addition, significantly above-normal temperatures will continue through week’s end in most areas west of the Rockies.
