Class III milk futures at the Chicago Mercantile Exchange were mostly firm on bear spreading as traders begin to move out of the nearby contract into deferred months. October was down $.15 at $22.11, while most active November was $.04 higher at $21.84, December was up $.06 at $21.29, and January was $.12 higher at $20.79.
In the dairy cash market, prices were mixed. Cheese barrels were down a half a penny per pound at $2.22 and ¼, with 40-pound blocks up $0.02 and ¼ at $2.02 and ¼.
