At the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, live cattle ended the day mostly higher, and feeders were higher watching corn, waiting for direct cash business to develop.  December live cattle closed $.12 lower at $148.45 and February lives closed $.25 higher at $152.12.  November feeder cattle closed $.47 higher at $176.67 and January feeder cattle closed $.17 higher at $176.90.

Direct cash cattle trade was quiet on Wednesday as bids remained elusive.  Asking prices were around $146 to $147 live in the South, while the North has been slow to reveal anything.
