At the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, live and feeder cattle were lower watching corn and direct cash business develop.  December live cattle closed $.52 lower at $147.92 and February live cattle closed $.42 lower at $151.70.  November feeder cattle closed $.57 lower at $176.10 and January feeders closed $.60 lower at $176.30. 

There was a light to moderate direct cash cattle trade on Thursday.  Live deals in the South were at $145, about $1 higher than last week’s weighted averages, and dressed business in the North was at $232, about $2 above last week’s weighted average basis in Nebraska.
