Monday 5th May 2025

At the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, live and feeder cattle were supported by cash and wholesale fundamentals.  December live cattle closed $1.70 higher at $154.12 and February lives closed $1.45 higher at $156.97.  November feeders closed $.80 higher at $179.15 and January feeders closed $1.56 higher at $181.95.

It was a quiet Monday for direct cash cattle business.  Showlists are lower across all feeding areas. Bids and asking prices are slow to surface.  Significant trade volume is expected to pickup midweek or later.
