Direct cash cattle trade is off to a typically quiet start as both buyers and sellers are busy taking inventory. Bids and asking prices have yet to surface. The bulk of the week’s business is expected to take place Thursday and Friday. The bulk of last week’s trade took place on Thursday with a little cleanup business on Friday. Deals in the South had a range of $146 to mostly $148, $3 higher than the prior week’s weighted averages.
