Harvest is on the downhill stretch for many midwestern farmers.
North central Illinois farmer Jared Kelly tells Brownfield he is done with soybeans and only has about 10% of his corn crop still standing.
“Beans were very good and our corn, I think, will be a record this year. It has dried down excellent. My last fields here have been around 16% moisture and standing well. It has been a good harvest.”
He says there might be a short break after harvest, but then his priority will be, “Getting the fieldwork done in a timely fashion.
