A Southeast Nebraska farmer says drought and the availability of fertilizer is adding more uncertainty for next year’s crop.

Nathan Dorn farms 30 minutes south of Lincoln and says dry soils have created application issues. “There’s nothing for anhydrous to bind to in the soil so anything we put down will evaporate right out.”

He tells Brownfield he’s struggled to book fertilizer already and it could get worse. “If we can’t put it on in the fall, can we put in the spring or is there going to be lines?
