Direct cash cattle markets are quiet. The USDA says there’s been some very light trade at $153 live in the Western Corn Belt, not enough to set a trend. Asking prices are $152 to $153 live, with nothing established yet for the dressed basis and no reported bids. The show list looks mixed, with larger offerings in Colorado, Nebraska, and Texas against lesser numbers in Kansas.
Boxed beef at midday was higher with solid movement.
