The Michigan Agriculture Commission has awarded $430,000 through the Food and Agriculture Investment Fund to projects that will expand ag processing in the state.

The grants of up to $100,000 support cold storage, meat processing, and other added value ag efforts across the Lower Peninsula.

MG88 Holland Cold Storage received $100,000 to expand its existing warehouse allowing meat packers, fruit growers, and grocery manufacturers more freezer storage space.

Perdue Farms was awarded a $100,000 grant to support its more than $27 million renovations of a former food processing facility in Shelby for pet treats.
