Direct cash cattle trade activity for the week is off to its typically quiet start.  Bids and asking prices have yet to surface as buyers and sellers are busy taking inventory.  Significant trade volume will likely be delayed until midweek or later.  Last week live deals in the South were at $147 to $150, mostly $150, fully steady with the previous week’s business.  Dressed deals in the North had a range of $238 to $244, mostly $242, also about steady with the previous week’s weighted average basis in Nebraska.
