The U.S. Department of Energy has awarded $8 million to solar projects that integrate farming.

Seven projects will support agrivoltaics research that combines solar energy technology and production agriculture.

Among the winners are Iowa State University, which will study horticulture and beekeeping at solar sites, and The Ohio State University, which plans to research grazing and forage at a utility-scale solar site.
