East of the Rockies, a warming trend will continue for the remainder of the week, following a Christmas weekend cold snap.  During the second half of the week, increasingly wet weather will accompany the warmth across the South, East, and lower Midwest.  In fact, 5-day rainfall totals could reach 1 to 2 inches more across the South, with locally heavy precipitation extending as far north as the lower Ohio Valley.  Rainfall could approach 4 inches in western Florida and environs.
