An extension economist suggests there’s not much incentive for crop farmers to make a sale before year end.

Chad Hart with Iowa State University tells Brownfield his only reason would be if someone was looking to make some major input purchases at the end of the year.

“Lining up some sales along with that always makes sense to me.”

But otherwise, he encourages growers to stay put.

“As I’m looking out into 2023, I guess I’m sitting here going ‘if I’ve held on this long I’m probably expecting that seasonal bounce that we’ll see towards mid to late springtime.
