Lingering unsettled weather in the Midwest and East will wind down over the next couple of days.  Meanwhile, the focus for stormy weather will return to the West, where a powerful Pacific cold front will move ashore Thursday, followed by a second cold front during the weekend.  As a result, 5-day precipitation totals in northern, central, and coastal California could reach 4 to 10 inches or more, with flash flooding and debris flows possible, especially on burn-scarred hillsides.
