At the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, live cattle were mostly higher and feeders were mixed ahead of the week’s direct cash business. February live cattle were unchanged at $157.74 and March feeder cattle closed $.20 higher at $186.50.
Tuesday was another quiet day for direct cash cattle business. Packer inquiry was limited and bids never surfaced. Asking prices in the South were at $158 to $159 live, while nothing was established in the North.
