It’s a quiet start to the week for direct cash cattle trade activity.  Buyers and sellers are busy taking inventory.  Like recent weeks, bids and asking prices will likely be slow to surface and significant trade volume will hold out until sometime Thursday or Friday.  Deals last week were at mostly $160 to $161 live in the South about $1.50 to $2.50 higher than the previous week’s weighted averages.  Dressed deals in the North ranged from $245 to $256, mostly $254, $4 above the prior week’s weighted average basis in Nebraska.
