An active weather pattern will continue for the remainder of the week.  In fact, only a few areas—including the southern Atlantic region, the lower Rio Grande Valley, and portions of the interior West—will receive little or no precipitation during the next 5 days.  Meanwhile, two disturbances emerging from the western U.S. will follow similar paths across the central and southern Plains and the Midwest.  Both weather systems will produce widespread, generally light precipitation in the West.
