The National Pork Producers Council has a novel request for the next farm bill.
NPPC president Terry Wolters says the Council is requesting a catastrophic insurance-type program in the 2023 Farm Bill.
“That would allow producers to have a better comfort level and understanding in the event that ASF or some other foreign animal disease were to enter the continent, they would have an understanding of how that might be able to work in their business model.”
