Direct cash cattle business remains quiet.  A few bids have surfaced at $162 live and $259 dressed in the North.  Asking prices are at $164-plus live in the South, but still not established in the North.  If this week follows the pattern of recent weeks, significant trade volume will likely be delayed until midweek or later.  Wednesday’s Fed Cattle Exchange had an offering of 936 head, of which zero head sold as none met the reserve prices of $163 to $164.
