A sprawling, powerful, and dangerous winter storm currently crossing central sections of the U.S. will reach New England early Friday. A Blizzard Warning remains in effect Thursday in the upper Midwest, in part due to low visibility. Snow- and wind-related impacts, including major travel disruptions and severe livestock stress, will linger here. Farther south, record-setting warmth will shift into the middle Atlantic and Southeastern States on Thursday before being swept away by a cold front.
