At the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, live and feeder cattle were higher, optimistic about this week’s direct business and looking ahead to the USDA’s Cattle on Feed Numbers. April live cattle closed $.25 higher at $165.32 and June lives closed $.17 higher at $161.27. March feeder cattle closed $1.25 higher at $189.22 and April feeder cattle closed $1.92 higher at $193.67.
It was another very quiet day for direct cash cattle trade activity. Bids were floated in all feeding areas at $160 to $164 live.
