It’s a quiet start to the week for direct cash cattle business.  Buyers and sellers are busy taking inventory and collecting new showlists.  Bids and asking prices have yet to surface and if this week follows recent trends, significant trade volume will likely hold out until sometime Thursday or Friday.  The bulk of last week’s business held off until Friday with Northern dressed deals at mostly $265, $4 higher than the prior week’s weighted average basis in Nebraska.
