Active weather will continue for the remainder of the week in the West, especially in the Pacific Coast States.  Some of the heaviest precipitation will fall in northern and central California, where valley rain and high-elevation snow will further improve reservoir storage and summer water-supply prospects.  This week’s Western precipitation will extend inland to the northern and central Rockies—but will mostly bypass the southern Rockies and Desert Southwest.  Meanwhile, portions of the nation’s mid-section will receive beneficial precipitation, starting on the northern Plains.
