U.S. dairy exports started the new year strong.  The U.S. Dairy Export Council says January shipments were 16% higher than January of last year on a milk solids equivalent basis and 21% higher than December.

U.S. cheese, nonfat dry milk, skim milk powder, and whey sales all grew by double digits in January, but butter, anhydrous milkfat, and whole milk powder exports struggled.

Robust demand from Mexico moved more than 88 hundred metric tons of nonfat dry milk and skim milk powder in January, which was up 15%.
