A pair of powerful storms—one on each coast—will dominate U.S. weather headlines through the middle of the week.  From the northern mid-Atlantic into southern New England, storm impacts will include heavy, wet, wind-driven snow, leading to travel disruptions and possible power outages.  Meanwhile, another round of freezes is expected on Wednesday morning into central sections of Mississippi, Alabama, and Georgia, as well as the Carolinas.  Farther west, much of California will endure another round of heavy rain, high-elevation snow, and gusty winds.
