A cold front moving into the southern and eastern U.S. will clear much of the Atlantic Seaboard by Saturday but will linger across Florida’s peninsula, where rainfall could total 1 to 2 inches or more.  Farther north, snow will gradually end across the upper Great Lakes region.

During the weekend and early next week, a strong high-pressure system will result in sub-32°F temperatures as far south as Alabama and Mississippi, with possible implications for blooming fruits and other freeze-sensitive crops.
