A Midwestern Senator is voicing concerns now that the Waters of the U.S. rule is in effect for most of the country.
Iowa Republican Chuck Grassley tells Brownfield 97 percent of the land in his state will be regulated by EPA and the Army Corps of Engineers under WOTUS.
“You don’t know how much anxiety that brings to farmers of Iowa. And we can’t stand for that sort of government control over agriculture.”
He says Supreme Court rulings expected by the end of June could modify the rule and “curtail the massive regulation.”
A Congressional review of WOTUS is also planned.
