The Grain and Feed Association of Illinois (GFAI) has renewed an alliance with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) to address grain industry hazards.
John Lee, Director of Safety, Health and Environmental Services with GFAI tells Brownfield it is a working partnership for outreach, education and hazard reduction.
“OSHA wants our members to be safe as well as grain elevators and feed mills, and so do we. So, this is a great way to work together to make that happen.”
He says each year they focus on different areas of safety and for 2023 the topic is heat stress and OSHA’s heat illness standard.
