A livestock economist says weather could impact feed costs for cattle producers this year.

University of Missouri’s Scott Brown says, “It was nice to get planting intentions out with producers saying 92 million acres of corn. Now we need to get those 92 million acres of corn (planted) if you are a livestock producer who wants to see some cheaper feed down the road.”

He tells Brownfield there are still some questions about hay and pasture conditions in drought affected areas.
