During the second half of the week, a cold front pushing eastward from the Pacific Northwest to the upper Midwest will generate scattered rain and snow showers.  Amounts will be mostly light, although precipitation could locally total an inch or more in the Pacific Northwest, northern Rockies, and upper Midwest.

Cool weather will trail the cold front, ending a brief warm spell across the West.  Meanwhile, warm, dry weather will continue from the eastern Corn Belt into the Northeast.
