A disturbance near the central Gulf Coast will drift northeastward into the middle Atlantic States during the weekend. Additional rainfall along the path of the disturbance could reach 1 to 2 inches or more. Meanwhile, a slow-moving storm system and its attendant cold front will push eastward, reaching the Mississippi Valley by Saturday. Late in the weekend, the storm will intensify across the upper Midwest, leading to windy weather and rain, possibly changing to wet snow.
