It’s a quiet start to the day for direct cash cattle business following back-to-back days of light to moderate activity.  Asking prices for what’s left on showlists are around $176 to $177 live in the South and $292-plus dressed in the North.  So far this week, dressed deals in the North have ranged from $283 to $290, mostly $290, which is a whopping $11 higher than the prior week’s weighted averages in Nebraska.  Live deals have had a range of $170 to $180, mostly $175, $5 higher than the previous week’s weighted averages.
