It’s another quiet start for direct cash cattle business.  Packer inquiry is expected to improve as the day progresses.  Bids have yet to surface.  Early asking prices have been floated around $177-plus live in the South, while the North remains quiet.  Look for business to pick up over the balance of the week.  There’s been a handful of deals reported Monday and Tuesday, but not near enough business to establish a trend.  The Fed Cattle Exchange had an offering of 985 head, none of which sold.
