At the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, live cattle were lower, and feeders were mostly lower ahead of widespread direct cash business. June live cattle closed 52 cents lower at $164.02 and August live cattle closed $0.50 lower at $162.95. May feeder cattle close $1.32 lower at $209.42 and may feeder cattle close 17 cents higher at $229.50.
It was another relatively quiet day for direct cash cattle business. A few early asking prices surfaced around $176 live in the South, while the North was quiet.
