Direct cash cattle trade activity is off to its typically quiet start for the week. Bids and asking prices are slow to surface as buyers and sellers are busy taking inventory.  It’s likely significant trade volume with be delayed until Midweek or later.  Dressed deals last week had a large range, from $275 to $286, mostly $283 to $285, $3 to $5 lower than the prior week’s weighted average basis in Nebraska.  Southern live business was light, with a range of $171 to $173, $2 lower than the previous week’s weighted averages.
