A cold front currently crossing the Tennessee Valley will push deeper into the South, while a developing storm system over the nation’s mid-section will soon produce widespread and significant rainfall. In fact, 5-day rainfall associated with the Plains’ system could reach 2 to 4 inches, starting from Nebraska northward but later shifting into parts of Oklahoma and Texas. More than 5 inches could fall in portions of southern Texas, beginning on Friday and continuing through the weekend.
