Fast-moving disturbances will continue to traverse the country during the next 5 days, with the most significant rain (locally 1 to 2 inches or more) occurring from the central and southern Plains into the Southeast. Elsewhere, an early-season heat wave will continue across the Far West, accompanied by mostly dry weather, while widely scattered, late-week frost may occur in the north-central U.S.
