At the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, live and feeder cattle closed higher, with boxed beef up at midday, watching the direct markets. June live cattle closed $.70 higher at $165.52 and August lives closed $.50 higher at $163.62. August feeders closed $3.35 higher at $234.50 and September feeders closed $3.27 higher at $237.22.
There was another light, scattered round of direct cash cattle business on Thursday. Dressed deals in the North were marked at $280, about steady with the previous week’s business.
