Direct cash cattle trade activity is relatively quiet following the light, scattered business that took place on Wednesday. Deals had a wide range, with business in the North anywhere from $181 to $188 live and $287 to $300 dressed. Today, bids have surfaced in the South at $178. Asking prices are at $186 live in the South, while still under wraps in the North. With such a wide spread between bids and asking prices, significant trade volume could be headed into a standoff.
