Direct cash cattle business is off to a sluggish start.  A few deals reported in parts of Kansas at $180 live, fully steady with the rest of the week’s Southern business.  The rest of cattle country is quiet.  Asking prices for what’s left on showlists are around $182-plus live in the South and $292-plus dressed in the North.  There was a round of light of mostly live business reported in the North on Thursday.  Deals were marked at $180 to $186, some dressed trade was reported, but it was very light and not enough to establish a trend.
