The low-pressure system currently crossing the Great Lakes States will drift northeastward and weaken. On Monday, during a final day of active weather associated with that weather system, highlights should include widespread showers in the lower Great Lakes region and locally severe thunderstorms in the Atlantic Coast States. Subsequently, disorganized disturbances crossing the northern U.S. will spark occasional showers, although 5-day rainfall totals will remain mostly below an inch. A few higher totals, possibly 1 to 3 inches, may occur from the northern Rockies to the central Plains.
