Another quiet start for direct cash cattle business.  A few bids have surfaced at $179 to $182 live, while the rest of cattle country is quiet.  Asking prices are around $182 live in the South and $290-plus dressed in the North.  So far this week there’s been some scattered business reported.  Live deals in Texas have been at $178 to $179, $1 to $2 lower than last week’s weighted averages.  In Kansas, deals have been reported at mostly $178, $2 below the previous week’s business.
